After graduating from the University of Toronto, where he studied English Literature and Art History, Dani moved to Los Angeles to attend law school. He wrote about music for The Huffington Post and was a legal extern in the Business & Legal Affairs Department at Live Nation in Beverly Hills.
While in law school, Dani founded a management company entitled Errant which he still owns, and he is instrumental in advising and guiding the careers of the roster. Highlights include: working with Maiah Manser on her artist project, managing 2x GRAMMY winning engineer Emerson Mancini, guiding artist Jayli Wolf to a Juno nomination and global recognition, managing artists including Carole Pope of double-platinum, four-time certified gold band Rough Trade and Sumo Cyco fronted by Juno-nominee Skye Sweetnam.
After law school, with legal knowledge in his pocket and a knack for business, Dani actualized his dream of creating his own law practice and music consulting firm to further assist music creators.
Dani founded Oliva Law Group, P.C. in 2017 and since has worked through business, legal, and administrative issues with his clients, while also providing music consulting services. Dani has assisted clients with matters including, but not limited to royalty disputes, unlawful use of name and likeness matters, breach of contract claims, copyright infringement, as well as band partnership agreements, management agreements, publishing agreements, producer agreements, label agreements, endorsement deals, visa applications, business formation and brand protection. Dani’s clients range from GRAMMY Award Winners, Billboard Hot 100 #1 charting songwriters to music merchandising companies.
In 2025, Dani founded a record label entitled Errant Records distributed by The Orchard with the purpose of assisting Canadian artists with their growth internationally. An artist entitled GUS is the first signee.
In 2025, Dani’s client Ariel Loh along with Iman Jordan, Tam Jones and Roy Gartrell were recipients of the GRAMMY Award Harry Belafonte “Best Song for Social Change”. In the same year, Dani’s client Mikhail Beltran won a GRAMMY Award for producing “Best R&B Album”.
In 2023, Dani, with his client Emerson Mancini, received a GRAMMY Award win certificate for his participation on Paramore’s “This Is Why”, which won “Best Rock Album”.
Dani is also active in rights advocacy groups for creative professionals. More than anything else, Dani’s goal is to help clients create, find the resources they need, overcome boundaries and obstacles, and actualize their version of success.
