Dani Oliva is the owner of Law Office of Dani Oliva: an Entertainment, Intellectual Property, Business, and Civil Litigation firm based in Los Angeles area. He founded Errant Entertainment, which represents Sumo Cyco fronted by Juno Award nominee Skye Sweetnam, double-platinum and Juno Award winning artist Carole Pope of Rough Trade, and T. Thomason.
In 2004, Dani also founded a music award show, Toronto Independent Music Awards (“TIMA”), to award and acknowledge independent musicians. The TIMA is a coveted award shared by independent musicians who have gone on to sign with major and independent labels, top charts, secure major motion picture placement, and win Juno Awards.
Dani writes for The Huffington Post, and is “Of Counsel” for Thomson Gabriele Ollunga LLP, a firm based in Toronto and New York.
Dani has been featured as a judge and music expert at Canadian Music Week alongside industry heavyweights Alan Moulder (NIN, The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins) and Dave Porter (A&R Universal Music Canada), among others, and has spoken at colleges such as California State University, Fullerton.
He’s passionate about empowering independent artists and musicians, and coaching them on the tools they need to achieve success. Dani graduated from the University of Toronto earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Art History. After college, he moved to Southern California to attend law school.
Mat Jackson graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he majored in Law and Society and Philosophy of Ethics and Public Policy with a minor in Mathematics. During his time at UCSB, Mat was elected to serve in legislative and executive roles with the Associated Students, and was the music director and public affairs host at KCSB 91.9fm.
While at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, Mat served as Vice-Chair to the Student Bar Association, and was a founding member of the law school’s Entertainment Law Society. Mat completed internships with the General Counsel at Warner Bros., with the International Sports and Emerging Networks division of Fox Cable Networks, and with the Corporate Counsel at St. John Knits.
After earning his Juris Doctorate, Mat was admitted to practice in California, and served as a Civil Rights Law Fellow with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing where he worked in Legislative and Regulatory Affairs. Mat also runs a music website entitled Cool-Tite.
Theodore Christian Sieving is a California licensed attorney and COO of Work Evolution, a creative co-workspace/incubator for entrepreneurs, artists, startups, techies and freelancers of all kinds.
Theodore graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Psychology and earned his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law.
Working with startups and entrepreneurs as an attorney and consultant, and his interest in the collaborative process resulted in his appointment as COO and General Counsel for WE Labs Inc. Concurrent work with feature films, musicians, artists, fashion designers and tech-oriented entrepreneurs opened his mind to the creative opportunities available in today’s rapidly changing digital world.
